Oct. 13, 2006: Remember Jorge Farinacci Garcia ("Fari")

Join the New York Committee of the Frente Socialista to
commemorate the life of Puerto Rican revolutionary leader
Jorge Farinacci Garcia (“Fari”).

Friday, October 13th

Reception at 6 PM
Program begins at 7 PM

Martin Luther King Memorial Center
310 West 43rd Street
(between 8th & 9th Avenues)
New York City

Fari began his revolutionary career as a student activist at the University
of Puerto Rico. As a labor attorney, he gave his knowledge and skill
wholeheartedly to the struggle of the working class. In the early 1990's,
he was imprisoned as one of the legendary Hartford Sixteen.

Upon his release, Fari and the Revolutionary Workers' Party – Macheteros
joined the unitary effort to build a Socialist Front in Puerto Rico. Fari was
unwavering in his commitment to working class internationalism and the
national liberation of Puerto Rico. On August 26, 2006, he passed away
after an eight-month long struggle against cancer.
