Welcome to the NYC Delegation Steering Committee's weblog!
This space is meant to be a collective resource for participating organizations and individuals to share information on their upcoming events and exchange ideas in preparation for the first Puerto Rico Social Forum. We hope that this will help to create a sustainable virtual community of activists that will not only facilitate the participation of NYC-based organizations and individuals at the PR Forum year after year, but also become a channel for the insertion of the Boricua community at large in the worldwide "movement of movements" seeking to build that better world that we know is possible.

BomPlenazo 2006 / IV Biennial of Afro-Puerto Rican Culture

October 4th thru 8th, Hostos Center for Arts & Culture

BomPlenazo 2006 / IV Biennial of Afro-Puerto Rican Culture is a five-day event of concerts, exhibitions, workshops, panel discussions and vente-tú (block party and jam) produced by the Hostos Center and Centro Cultural Rincón Criollo. This year’s biennial will focus on the bomba and plena traditions of Ponce, Puerto Rico. BomPlenazo is being dedicated to Modesto Cepeda Brenes, Isabel Albizu Dávila, Ismael “Cocolay” Rivera and Luis Santiago Reyes.
